CHAOULOFF Francis Researcher (INSERM) at the Neurocentre Magendie (Bordeaux, FRANCE)
Short Biography
Francis Chaouloff graduated in 1985 while working on the neuropharmacology of the central serotoninergic systems. During his post-doc at Geneva, he was worked on the impact of serotoninergic systems on the metabolism. In 1988, he was recruited as a director of research at the French national health and medical research institute in Paris. He focused on serotoninergic systems and their impact on stress and physical activity. In 2007, he joins Giovanni Marsicano’s team at Bordeaux and starts working on the role of endocannabinoid systems on the adaptation to stress.
Research interests
Dr Marsicano’s team is interested in understanding the neurobiological bases of adaptation to stressful stimuli. The team is also interested in the role of endocannabinoid systems in anxiety and fear, the neurobehavioral impact on the hypothalamo-pituitary-adrenergic axis and to mechanisms of action of psychotropes.
